Client Overview
About the Project
The client is a U.S.-based brand of wireless headphones and audio accessories, selling primarily on Amazon and through its own online store.
The Challenge
Searching the brand’s name together with “reviews” surfaced a negative Reddit thread right at the top of Google — content that was undermining trust and pulling down conversions.
Goal: knock the negative thread out of the #1 spot and replace it with a post we control.
Our Approach
Launching a Fresh Thread
We started a new thread in a subreddit relevant to the niche, framed as an honest, neutral conversation about using the product — no promotional angle, just a credible discussion.
Fueling the Conversation
Using a pool of established accounts, we seeded comments to keep the thread active and looking organic. One of our own comments climbed to the top of the thread.
Overtaking the Negative Thread
As the new thread picked up authority, it climbed past the negative one and took the #1 spot in Google for the branded query.
The Outcome
A New #1 Ranking
The new thread reached position #1 in Google for the branded search term — the exact spot the negative content used to occupy.
An Unexpected Bonus: AI Citation
Our comment inside the thread is now being pulled by AI tools such as ChatGPT as a reference point when people ask about the brand.
